Gudja United move third after win on San Gwann

Jonathan Bondin gives Gudja United the three points in a clash with San Gwann.

Gudja are back to winning ways after beating San Gwann 1-0 in the first 2019 fixture. It was very important to come back from the festive season with an immediate win following the heavy loss to Sirens during the last December match.

Gudja were in control throughout the whole match with San Gwann trying their luck only with some fast breaks on a few occasions. The Blues kept possession of the ball for most of the 90 minutes, but the boys were a bit careless with their passes in the final three quarters of the pitch.

The only goal of the match was the first goal with the Club for Gudja Captain and Centre Back Jonathan Bondin. Whilst the only serious occasion for the opponents came from a deflected header by Rafa Kooh Sohna who nearly headed back in his own net, but debutant goalkeeper Jonathan Debono miraculously turned it into corner.

Dhonatan Santos Da Hora, Ayrton Mizzi, Luke Micallef and former Valletta and Birkirkara Midfielder Llywelyn Cremona were all debuting for Gudja United FC this afternoon.
