Gudja United have been working tirelessly this week to strengthen their squad and have reached an agreement to sign defender Rodrigue Nanitelamo, midfielder Ernesto Gentile, and striker Ibrahim Salis.
Added to that the Premier League club are closing in on the permanent acquisition of midfielder Aidan Friggieri.
The Southerners have been working hard to revamp their squad this month after parting ways with several players.
Now under the charge of coach Renzo Kerr Cumbo, Gudja United have brought several overseas players for a trial.
This week, the club handed a contract to Congolese defender Nanitelamo.
The 27-year-old, who also holds a French passport, came through the youth ranks of French club AS Cannes before heading to Spain to play for CF Vilanova.
During his career, he also donned the colours of Spartak Pleven, in Bulgaria, Scottish club Forfar Athletic, Oman’s Al Suwaiq and Serbia’s Drava Ptuj.
Last season, he was playing in Vietnam with Sai Gon.
On the other hand, Gentile spent his career in Italy and was brought to Malta by Gudja United’s transfer market consultant Luca Scuderi.
Gentile spent three seasons with Cosenza and had also spells at Mantova, Palmese and Casteltermini.
Nigerian striker Salis has been in Malta for five years now, par a short spell in the Saudi Arabian league with Al Diraiyah.
With Swieqi United he amassed 76 appearances and scored 36 goals.
Gudja United are hoping to complete a fourth signing this week as they are very close to bring in winger Friggieri from Sliema Wanderers.
Talks are ongoing that would see the 25-year-old put pen to paper on an 18-month deal.
Should the transfer be successfully concluded it would mark a return for Friggieri at Gudja United after he spent three years at the club between 2019 and 2022.
Gudja United will be hoping to hand a debut to their new signings in Sunday’s FA Trophy tie against Xewkija Tigers at the Gozo Stadium.
