Sliema Wanderers kept the pace with Hamrun and Floriana as they registered a fourth successive win, defeating Gudja United 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.

Gudja, who had coach Renzo Kerr Cumbo making his debut, remain sharing the bottom spot with Sirens.

The Wanderers took the lead five minutes from the end of the first half when off a corner by Lydon Micallef and a cross by Mohamed Awad, Joachim Adukor hit home from close range.

Ten minutes from time, Geoffrey Acheampong doubled the score, heading home off a Lydon Micallef cross from the left.
