SIXTH DRAW OF THE SEASON

1 - 1
Full Time

Gudja United encountered yet another draw, tallying their sixth one in the ongoing season as they settled for a 1-1 draw against Birkirkara.

In the initial moments of the game, Birkirkara initiated a string of offensive manoeuvres. Yannick Yankam’s shot from beyond the penalty area in the opening minute was skillfully blocked by Gudja’s goalkeeper, Sozer. In the 17th minute Andrei Ciolacu’s long-range attempt was redirected into a corner by Armando Melo.

Undeterred, Gudja pressed forward, and in the 22nd minute, Toure made a hopeful move into the box, only to see his effort saved by Birkirkara’s goalkeeper, Marcel Zapytowski. Despite this, Gudja came close to scoring five minutes later when Matias Muchardi’s shot narrowly missed the target. However, in the 43rd minute, Gudja managed to break the deadlock as Marvin Santiago Angulo, left unmarked, successfully placed the ball past Zapytowski.

The second half saw Birkirkara launching an aggressive offensive from the start. In the 48th minute, Ciolacu faced off against Sommer, Gudja’s goalkeeper, who made a crucial save. Maxuell Maia had a shot in the 61st minute, but Sozer turned it into a corner.

In the 78th minute, Birkirkara secured a penalty after Zak Grech fouled Andrei Ciolacu. Andrei Ciolacu himself successfully converted the penalty, levelling the score at 1-1.

In the 91st minute, James Nichols Agius was shown a direct red card for a severe foul in the center of the field. Notably, Agius had spent less than a minute on the pitch before the expulsion.
